Canada’s Assistant Deputy Minister for the Americas of Global Affairs today reiterated Ottawa’s call for the return of Carter Center observers to observe the recount of votes currently underway.

In a tweet, Michael Grant called on President David Granger to reverse the decision to deny permission to the Carter Center to return.

President Granger should reverse this decision”.

Canada has funded the work of the Carter Center here.

The US, Canada and the United Nations among others have been urging the return of the Carter Center amid concerns that attempts are being made to rig the results of the March 2nd general elections.
