Calypso Girls finish 12th at Netball World Cup - Trinidad and Tobago Newsday

THE Calypso Girls ended their 2023 Netball World Cup campaign in 12th place after losing to Fiji 71-37 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre Arena I in South Africa on Saturday.

Fiji won the first quarter 17-8 and then took the second quarter 17-7 to open up a comfortable 34-15 lead at half-time.

Fiji continued to control the match in the second half outscoring TT 15-13 in the third quarter and 22-9 in the fourth quarter.

Afeisha Noel completed 23 of 27 shots for TT and for Fiji, Unaisi Rauluni led the scoring with 36 out of 41 attempts.

England and Australia will play in the final on Sunday and Jamaica and New Zealand will play in the bronze medal match.
