iPhone Feature Allows for Automatic Recording of Law Enforcement Interactions

Following multiple accounts of police brutality, an iPhone feature that allows you to quickly record interactions with the police is gaining widespread attention.

The shortcut is free to download and was created by Redditor Robert Petersen, who says he just wanted to give everyone an opportunity to have proof of events that may take place.

“I just wanted a way for anyone to have proof of their version of events in the unlikely scenario that something unexpected happens during a police interaction,” Petersen told KCTV.

There is currently no shortcut equivalent for Android users, but there are a few apps featuring tools that help discreetly record interactions with law enforcement in the Play Store.

Petersen is hopeful that people will feel safer using the shortcut.
