A 30-year-old man of Eighth Avenue, Barataria, is now nursing gunshot wounds after being attacked by gunmen early on July 20.

The man has been identified as Wesley Creese.

His wife told police that at about 3.30 am on July 20 she was asleep, when Creese woke her up shouting, “Ah get shoot!”

That was when she saw the gunshot wound to his stomach.

She called out for help and the victim’s two brothers took him to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex where he was treated.

Police at the scene of the shooting recovered one 5.56 spent shell.
