Dr. William Finlayson has been honored with street for his service Bronzeville District. As a physician, he helped delivered expectant mother of an estimated 10,000 children.He was a friend of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr and shared the vision of making his society better. As a result of this, Milwaukee Council decided to rename 5th Street as Dr. William Finlayson Street.
