Nicholas E. Brathwaite

Nicholas E. Brathwaite is cofounder and partner of Riverwood Capital, a global, growth equity, investment firm with over $2 billion in assets under management. Riverwood Capital invests in technology and technology services industries across a variety of verticals and geographies.

Brathwaite was a member of the founding team of nCHIP Inc., a venture capital funded startup in Silicon Valley. After nCHIP was acquired by Flextronics in 1995, Nic became the Chief Technology Officer of Flextronics where, during a 12-year period, he started and built several of the fastest growing and some of the largest businesses in the company.

As a technologist, Brathwaite has several patented inventions and was a pioneer in the development of low cost cell phones for developing countries and the development of software solutions for integrating product design with supply chain and manufacturing systems.

Through their PETNA Foundation, Nic and his wife, Janice, have provided financial support for several Grenadian undergraduate and graduate students in various programs, including education and information technology.

Brathwaite attended Presentation Brothers College in Grenada, Queen’s College in Guyana and the Barbados Community College. He obtained his BSc. (Honors) degree from McMaster University, his MSc. degree from The University of Waterloo in Canada.
