Roxbury community College was established in 1973 and its new permanent campus was opened at New Dudley Street and Columbus Avenue to serve the higher education needs of Blacks, Hispanics, and other who previously did not have access to the kind of post-secondary schooling that offered preparation for college or for the workplace.
