En Chypre-Nord, l’éducation est devenue le premier secteur économique. Pas moins de 23 universités se concentrent dans cet État autoproclamé reconnu par la seule Turquie, qui l’occupe depuis 1974. Elles attirent des étudiants issus de pays en développement, avec des cursus à coût abordable et estampillés "européens". Mais une partie d’entre eux déchantent rapidement, victimes des promesses abusives de leurs recruteurs pouvant conduire à des situations dramatiques.
