William “Bill” Lamar, Jr. served as Chief Marketing Officer, McDonald’s USA. In this role, Lamar was responsible for the marketing, market research, advertising and new product development in the U.S. and its nearly 14,000 restaurants.
Lamar was also a member of the U.S. Executive Management Team. His role was integral in the development of “Plan to Win”, the strategic plan for the growth and repositioning of the McDonald’s brand.
Lamar’s team introduced the greatest number of successful new products in McDonald’s history. Increasing market-share and spearheading the launch of the “i’m lovin’ it” ad campaign in the U.S., Bill’s results helped lead to McDonald’s recognition as “Marketer of the Year” by Advertising Age Magazine in 2004.
Lamar is Chairman of the 100 Black Men of Atlanta, GA.
