Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms announced Saturday that police Chief Erika Shields is resigning, after a Black man was killed by police at a Wendy’s on Friday night.
But video posted to social media shows Brooks running away from police before he is shot off-camera.
“After failing the test, the officers attempted to place the male subject into custody,” Georgia Bureau of Investigation spokesperson Nelly Miles said in a statement.
Witnesses said Brooks grabbed the Taser from the officer before being shot, according to the GBI.
