Baltimore City Comptroller Joan Pratt has held the office as the City’s independent fiscal executive since 1994.
Pratt has been defeated in her bid for a seventh term by Baltimore City Councilman Bill Henry, who represents the 4th District of Northeast Baltimore.
“The returns we’re seeing make it clear that, thanks to the hard work and support of so many Baltimoreans, I will be the Democratic nominee for City Comptroller in November’s general election,” Henry said in a statement.
“They want a Comptroller who will keep an eye on the Mayor and City agencies.
They want a Comptroller who’s focused on pulling back the curtain, and letting all of us see how City government is really running and how our money is being spent,” Henry stated.
