Bullets, Creck switch focus

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets and Creck Sporting Club will face each other in the TNM Super League at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre this afternoon.

The match comes a few days after the two teams shared the spoils in an Airtel Top 8 quarterfinal first leg match at the same venue.

But the two teams had contrasting fortunes in their opening matches in the league a fortnight ago, with Bullets registering a 1-0 victory in the TNM Super League over defending champions Silver Strikers at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe.

On the other hand, Creck hope for their first win of the season, having suffered a 1-4 defeat to Premier Bet Dedza Dynamos at their adopted home, Champion Stadium, in Mponela, Dowa District.

But Creck have a score to settle against Bullets, having lost 3-2 in a league match last season after a 1-1 stalemate in the first round.

They also met in Sapitwa Pre-Season bonanza match, with Bullets triumphing 1-0.

Bullets Coach Peter Mponda said he was confident that his boys would transform their Airtel Top 8 performance into the league.

“We will continue from where we stopped last Saturday, bossing possession and also creating opportunities,” Mponda said.

Taking his turn, Creck Coach Joseph Kamwendo urged his charges to exercise caution.

“We know that Bullets will come hard on us after the goalless draw but we desperately need the full points,” Kamwendo said.

Both sides are likely to reshuffle their starting line-ups this afternoon.

Currently, Bullets are seventh on the log table with three points from one match whereas Creck are second from bottom without a win.

Mighty Wanderers lead the log table with six points from two matches above Ekhaya, Moyale Barracks and Karonga United on goal difference.
