CODE—Music is food to me
Singer and guitarist Code Sangala has resurfaced with a new track titled ‘Umuwuze’, which opens his 2025 journey.
The Big Brother Africa (BBA) former representative, who operates between Malawi and United States of America (USA), said Monday that music was his bread and butter, hence coming out with new work.
“Music is food to me and, so, here I am with ‘Umuwuze’. This song is inspired by our own traditional dances, which I treasure. I am looking at traditional dances such as Beni, Manganje and Tchopa,” the Kapirintiya former member said.
Having released the track titled ‘Bekeshu’ recently, Code said ‘Umuwuze’ marked yet another giant step.
“The video is available on CodeSangalaMusic channel on YouTube and features Chichiri Cultural Heritage,” Code said.
The ‘Mukunama’ and ‘Kumadziowore’ maker said the release of the new track was also a step towards his mission of dropping an album.
“But I am not in a rush to do so. I will move with all the time because I strive for quality,” he said.
Code said he had produced the song on his own, with support from renowned producer OBK, with Peter Likhomo on bass.
According to Code, the song is also released on FBM, A Germany-based record label.
“My music is available on all digital platforms. We, as musicians, need to embrace digital modes for people to access our music,” he said.
