The reality of police brutality and the need to rise up in protest is undisputed.
However, please recognize there are forces mingled in our community protests who will lead many unthinking people down a road that leaves nothing but ashes after the fire burns out.
Some of those who lead others to burn and loot are not our friends and their definition of victory is not racial justice.
There are those among us on the crowded streets of protest who chant with us, scream and holler, toss bricks and gasoline bottles at police and then disappear quietly into a voting booth and vote for Donald Trump.
Police didn’t put a knee on Fred Hampton’s throat forty years ago, they filled his body with bullets!
