The Fulton County, Georgia District Attorney’s Office announced during a Wednesday (June 17) press conference that a former Atlanta police officer has been charged with homicide.
According to Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard, Jr. (pictured left), Brooks was fatally shot by Garrett Rolfe (pictured center), a former officer with the Atlanta Police Department.
Secondly, from the videotape, we were able to see that the other officer, [Devin] Brosnan, actually stood on Mr. Brooks’ shoulders while he was there struggling for his life,” he continued.
Rolfe was immediately fired by the Atlanta Police Department after the incident, which claimed Brooks’ life.
Devin Brosnan (pictured right), the second officer who was reportedly involved in Brooks’ murder, has been placed on administrative leave.
