Black women in the Mississippi Delta face disproportionate barriers to cervical cancer prevention and treatment due to rural hospital closures and lack of access to affordable health care, and the state must take immediate action to address this crisis by expanding Medicaid, investing in transportation infrastructure, funding cervical cancer screenings and treatment programs, and increasing awareness of the HPV vaccine.
