Hampton shared that their lesson plan will cover African-American male hate crimes, black men who have been victims of hateful crimes, and Black male success stories.
Hampton created a thread of videos and photos on Instagram that showed her nephews reading their research papers about the shooting of Ahmaud Arbery.
On Feb. 23, Arbery, a 25-year-old African-American man, was jogging in a neighborhood in the coastal Georgia town of Brunswick.
Hampton revealed the reason behind her lesson plan in a lengthy caption.
“OURstory is not always taught at school, so it’s our job to make sure our young men are aware and educated,” she wrote.
