October 13, 2024 (SENNAR) - Sudanese army chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan visited Jebel Moya in Sennar state on Sunday, days after his forces recaptured the strategic mountain range from the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). Burhan's visit aimed to boost the morale of his troops, who retook Jebel Moya on Oct. 5 after fierce fighting. The army's victory cuts off key RSF supply routes in eastern Sudan. 'Burhan visited the Jebel Moya area where the army and supporting forces from the General Intelligence Service, the popular resistance, and mobilized forces achieved a resounding victory over the Rapid Support Forces,' the Sovereign Council said in a statement on Sunday. Videos on social media showed soldiers warmly welcoming Burhan in Jebel Moya. Burhan continued his tour on Sunday with a visit to Wadi Sayidna air base, where he met with military pilots and expressed his gratitude for their service in the campaign against the RSF.
