The American Society of Magical Negroes , Exhibiting Forgiveness, Rob Peace and more are part of the 2024 Sundance Film Festival . A plethora of films featuring Black casts and/or Black filmmakers are featured this year for the 40th installment of Sundance, which will take place Jan. 18 in Park City and Salt Lake City, Utah. The festival will start with the Opening Night Gala: Celebrating 40 Years Presented by Chase Sapphire. The gala/fundraiser will benefit the work the Sundance Institute will do year-round. Like it has been in the past few years, the Sundance Festival will also be available to online audiences via Sundance’s curated online selection.
