Actor Will Smith spent $100,000 to bring fireworks back to New Orleans on Independence Day, according to the Associated Press. Smith, who’s in New Orleans, working on his new film Emancipation, learned that the city hadn’t planned on the 2021 fireworks show over the Mississippi River, according to city officials. Last year’s show was canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic.
