Seattle Medium Launches COVID-19 Local News Fund

In an effort to remain viable and continue providing the African American, underserved, minority and other disenfranchised communities in the Pacific Northwest with critical information and news related to COVID-19, The Seattle Medium Newspaper has partnered with the Local Media Association to establish a COVID-19 Local News Fund for The Seattle Medium Newspaper.

The Fund, which can be accessed online at givebutter.com/seattlemedium, provides an opportunity for our local readers, supporters, partners and philanthropic community to make donations that will help the Seattle Medium sustain our local reporting efforts, and our ability to continue delivering news and timely updates on the COVID-19 pandemic to our community.

Tax-deductible donations made to The Seattle Medium COVID-19 Local News Fund will help pay for printing and distribution costs during COVID-19 crisis, resources to cover the impact that the virus is having on our community, and allow The Seattle Medium to utilize our media resources to provide promotional campaigns to other local, community-based businesses in order to help them keep their doors open during and after the pandemic is over.

In addition to establishing the Seattle Medium COVID-19 Local News Funds, the Seattle Medium has also partnered with The Central Area Senior Center, Byrd Barr Place, The Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle, First A.M.E. Church and King County Councilmember Girmay Zahilay to provide 8-week subscriptions to the Seattle Medium to local area seniors and other populations in our community that are highly vulnerable to complications related to COVID-19 free of charge.

Members of the community can contribute to the Seattle Medium COVID-19 Local News Fund online at givebutter.com/seattlemedium.
