Researchers at Indiana University's Comprehensive Cancer Center are conducting a pioneering study to uncover the biological basis of aggressive breast cancers in Black women. Led by Dr. Harikrishna Nakshatri, this investigation offers hope for targeted treatments that could mitigate disparities in breast cancer outcomes among Black women. Despite lower breast cancer incidence, Black women often experience more aggressive triple-negative breast cancers at a younger age, making this research crucial for personalized and effective treatments.
