College is already stressful and draining. But adding the realization of being in the wrong major to the mix, creates a mentally disastrous concoction. Picture yourself in bed, and you can barely lift yourself out of it. Your arms drop like lead, with each item you put into your bag. Even your appearance has developed into a seemingly mountainous chore that you don’t have the patience to climb. Despite investing in rest, your days still appear to blend together. It creates a woefully unpleasant image encompassing regret and disdain. Notice how many people struggling with depression may also experience a similar routine. Continuing to pursue a path you’re not passionate about is unhealthy, unfair to yourself, and can ultimately lead to depression. Switching majors may have some immediate consequences.
