Black Lives Matter president of Greater New York, Hawk Newsome, joined a discussion on The Story to discuss the direction of the movement in the wake of George Floyd’s death in police officers’ hands.
In response, Newsome said, “Wow, it’s interesting that you would pose that question like that because this country is built upon violence.
Amid the discussion, the president of Black Lives Matter said that if the country doesn’t give them what they want, they would destroy the system and replace it.
“If this country doesn’t give us what we want, then we will burn down this system and replace it,” Newsome told MacCallum.
He said he’s not in support of riots but insists that Black Lives Matter aims to save lives.
