TNM Super League rookies Ekhaya Football Club continue to make a bold entrance in Malawi’s top-flight football, announcing the acquisition of a team bus.
Fresh off a busy pre-season in which they dominated the transfer market with the highest number of player signings, Ekhaya have now added a luxury coach to their growing list of investments.
The move sends a strong signal across the local football landscape, especially at a time many clubs are struggling to secure reliable transport.
LUXURIOUS—Mhango
Ekhaya Chief Executive Officer Thando Mhango said the club opted for the bus as a strategic move to ease mobility challenges.
“Now that we have joined the Super League, our travel demands have increased significantly. Unlike in the Premier Division, where we mostly played within the Southern Region, we now need to travel as far as the Northern Region to face teams such as Chitipa United, Karonga United, Mzuzu City Hammers, Songwe Border and Moyale Barracks,” Mhango said.
“The bus will allow us to manage our schedule more efficiently and give players comfort. This coach ensures that they arrive well-rested and prepared,” Mhango said.
He could not be drawn to disclose how much they invested in the bus.
Ekhaya, who started their top flight campaign impressively after beating Mighty Tigers 2-0, will today host Civil Service United, who lost 1-0 to Karonga United in their opening match.
Last week, Ekhaya unveiled Stevensons Paints as the team’s partners in a year-long deal valued at K60 million.
