Last week, I had the opportunity to host a virtual roundtable with my good friend and Democratic nominee for President, Joe Biden.
Biden’s agenda is far-reaching, tackling issues ranging from lifting up small businesses to education reform to environmental justice, with specific policy measures that demonstrate Joe is listening to the needs and issues of our community.
For example, Joe is proposing doubling the State Small Business Credit Initiative and significantly increasing funding for the Minority Business Development Agency — two measures that would help African-American businesses access the capital necessary to survive, thrive, and provide the opportunity for real growth.
Joe also offers an ambitious plan to increase black home ownership by creating a new refundable, advanceable tax credit of up to $15,000.
Such a measure would go a long way at creating lasting wealth in African American communities across the country.
